Bosnia and Herzegovina is located on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe. Its countryside is home to medieval villages, rivers and lakes, and the Dinaric Alps. The town is Neum is situatied along Bosnia and Herzegovina's 20 kilometers of coastline, making it the country's only access to the Adriatic and Mediterranean Seas. 

Brčko has the largest port in Bosnia. Located in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina, it lies on the banks of Sava River. Even though Brčko is the largest port in Bosnia, the main freight port is located in Ploče, Croatia. The Port of Ploče is the second largest seaport in Croatia and mostly serves Bosnia and Herzegovina.
